Did a 1 hour art rush with the artist of No Need for Bushido (www.noneedforbushido.com). It was utterly fantastic! Seriously, I haven’t had to push myself like that in a long time! I do understand that there are quite a few mistakes in it… but I’m proud of it, so whatever. A whole picture in one hour, when I spent the first fifteen minutes getting everything set up (Including taking the animals and myself out.).
The theme this time was: Cyborg Chick.
We’ve decided we’re going to do it again next Monday, except I get to pick the theme this time! Not that this theme wasn’t totally rockin’!
Boo Yah!
You know people, there’s a reason the developers at Bioware didn’t make Tali a romanceable character. Sure, I thought she was attractive too, but I’d rather have her alive then a limp alien in a wetsuit. So unless you’re a really sick person, it’s probably best to stop asking. Or you could just wait until Bioware comes up with some really elaborate relationship that involves a Quarian vessel, ponies and alien disinfenctants.
Well, I got sidetracked by managing two deviantart accounts, making replies and rebuilding my portfolio! So, it doesn’t look like I’ll be finishing this simple page before tonight! Which, makes me sad. D:
Anyway, here’s a look at the panels I have so far, and what it MIGHT look like should you get some Tali Love. ;)
And with that, I’ve got to take care of the animals and head off to class~!
Second image I traced for practice. Notice the subtle differences in the images and implementation of changes in muscle mass, expression and personal style.
I will NOT post art that is a trace without the original being attached directly to the image. Any other art posted here, if without an original image, is NOT a trace.
:)
So, I was working on my art (Between the SWTOR Fanart and the ME2 Fanart) and wondering what I needed to do to really start to jump my lineart to that next level. My colors are already moving ahead… but what about my lines? Well, I realized that what I needed to do was simple: The same thing I did to learn to draw in the first place!
When I was a kid, I initally learned to draw by tracing over other people’s artwork. I’m one of those artists that believes tracers are scum however, and HATE seeing official marvel comics that were traced over 3D Models. It makes me sick to my stomach, and I don’t like it. What I do believe in however, is following an image for the sake of learning.
See, I put this image in the background, made it transparent and then drew on a layer on top of it. At the same time however, I changed their muscle structures and wrinkles to match more my style… although the wrinkles here are admittedly lacking. Anyway, I learned a lot doing these, which I showed off in my picture of Bastilla - Seen below.
What do you think?
So, I’m a student at ITT-Technical University, and I’m in my final class before I graduate with my bachelors. ITT itself, is a horrible school, at least from where I’m sitting. The atmosphere, awful… the people, lazy! Now, I AM a people person, so it’s not like I’ve gone out of my way to mess with people. That’s just the way I see it.
Anyway, I’ve started development on my final for the school, as a team of one. The rest of the class is in their own team (of Five), so I’m basically outgunned here. Also, they’re making a 3-D game, so my game might not be as noticeable sitting next to their’s… even if I know nobody has programming experience. But, i’ve got one thing the others don’t: Experience.
This is why I picked up Torque Game Builder and the Platformer Code. Now, I’ve just got to alter the code and create all of my assets. What I’ve posted is the very first thing you’ll see once you start up the game, except from the editor’s point of view. So far, I’ve got very simple houses, trash cans, fences and brick walls. I’m going to make it all prettier, but that’s not my main goal at the moment.
I’ve got to get Ori (My character) working in the engine since I’ve completed all of the required animations. Even one where she’s beating your face with a FISH! I’m going to make a FUN and enjoyable game before anything else, so once I get the basics down, the first level will be retooled over and over until ‘I’ think I have fun game mechanics.
I’ll post more information as I continue, and then the game for everyone to play for FREE! :)
Had the time and decided to spend it practicing my arts! So, I thought it would be cool to draw a “What If?” image of Bastilla (KOTOR) in ME2.
Seriously, how cool would that be? She was annoying at the start of the game, but quite likeable towards the end! Still, I wouldn’t bet on this happening, what with Bioware most likely not wishing to bend the time-space continuum for even this kind of awesome.
Bastilla was a one-man type of girl anyway, so I doubt she’d pick Shepard over Revan. Even if they both have the possiblity of being strong in the biotics.
Anyway, with this… I’m off to get some commissions and designs done! Ciao! ;3
SWTOR Fanart~! So, the other day… I was thinking about, out of the available classes, who exactly my girlfriend and I would play. Well, while I normally might be one of those to make a female character… I’ll actually make a male one in this case. But, I figured two women would make for a more dynamic feel squared off against two sith men!
Anyway, I was considering making a comic out of this, but seeing how Lucasarts has decided to nab any kind of art posted on the SWTOR forums… why would I do that? I mean, they already OWN everything about Jedi… why am I going to giving them more free stuff?
Crazy people.
(Anyway, my girlfriend and I are fighting over the smuggler… which, if she really wants, she can have. If I’m not going to be a smuggler, well, there’s always jedi!)
ME2 Fanart coming your way! Been trying some new techniques with this one. Apparently, I’m not too awful at slinking toward realism! WoohoO! x3
But yes, anyway… if you haven’t seen it yet… the newest Developer Diary at Gametrailers has a short SHORT preview of the new explorable worlds in it. So, if you’ve played the first one, the very first thing you should notice is… TREES!

OMG! Sure, there were some in the citadel… but that’s not QUITE the same thing. ;3
